Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Unitas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Glutamine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Glutamine has chosen Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, David Unitas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gary Glutamine! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Joseph Jones and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Glutamine dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Unitas. That did some damage! Glutamine shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Glutamine jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Unitas is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Unitas and Glutamine has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Unitas wants to get back to his feet but Glutamine drags him back down. Glutamine working away. Unitas is looking to reverse the position. Glutamine goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Unitas rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Glutamine's guard! Nice work there by Unitas! Unitas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Unitas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Unitas is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Unitas throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Unitas loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Unitas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Unitas looking to pass the guard. Unitas working some strikes from top position. Glutamine tries to land a sweep but no joy. Unitas is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Glutamine looking to hit a scissor sweep but Unitas is one step ahead there. Glutamine avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Unitas has gone for a leg lock! Glutamine slips out almost immediately though and dives into Unitas's guard. Glutamine content to stall in guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Glutamine stops Unitas from standing up. Unitas pushes Glutamine off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Glutamine tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Unitas counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Unitas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Glutamine is looking to clinch but Unitas is avoiding it.
Glutamine throws a head kick but Unitas moves out of range.
Unitas lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
A good leg kick by Glutamine. Gary Glutamine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Glutamine fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Unitas sprawls well initially but Glutamine persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Unitas is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Glutamine thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Glutamine is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Unitas defends it well. Glutamine is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Unitas is staying active underneath Glutamine, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Unitas gets full guard. Glutamine won't allow Unitas to get back to his feet. Unitas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Unitas controls Glutamine momentarily but Glutamine frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Unitas is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Glutamine is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Glutamine stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Unitas has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Glutamine manages to get his head free but now Unitas has transitioned to an armbar! Glutamine grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Unitas! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). David Unitas! Our winner, David Unitas, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
