PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kerry Mcgee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Forbes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mcgee's entrance music is Superman's Worst Nightmare. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Forbes's choice of entrance music: Israels Son. Anthony Forbes will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kerry Mcgee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Forbes!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Forbes fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Forbes looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Forbes.

Mcgee closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Forbes's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Mcgee distracts Forbes with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Mcgee scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Mcgee engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Mcgee pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Forbes is keeping the position for now.
Mcgee lands a couple of elbows.
Mcgee trying to control the position from guard on top but Forbes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Forbes is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mcgee defends well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mcgee sitting in guard here, content to control.
Mcgee landing with the ground and pound.
Mcgee wants to control from the top but Forbes keeps moving.
Forbes can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mcgee controls the pace.

Kerry Mcgee has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Mcgee shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Forbes manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mcgee is working Forbes over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Mcgee wants to pass the guard but Forbes is keeping the position.
Mcgee has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Mcgee is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Mcgee's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kerry Mcgee wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Mcgee scores with a takedown into Forbes's guard.

Mcgee advances position into side control!
Mcgee is chipping away with strikes.
Mcgee lands a nice forearm strike.
Mcgee lands some shots froms side control.
Forbes is being controlled here.
Forbes prevents Mcgee from improving position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mcgee decides to stand up, so the ref orders Forbes to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Mcgee shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Forbes napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Mcgee wants to control but Forbes is keeping him busy.

Mcgee wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Forbes, who protects the arm well.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Forbes is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mcgee thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Mcgee content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kerry Mcgee dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Mcgee throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Forbes tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mcgee is in Forbes's guard.
Mcgee is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Forbes can do to turn this around?
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mcgee's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Mcgee wants to control from the top but Forbes keeps moving.

Mcgee gets to his feet. Forbes looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Forbes is breathing heavily.

Mcgee gets a takedown into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mcgee controlling the pace.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mcgee connects with a nice short shot to Forbes's temple.
Mcgee trying to control the action but Forbes is working from the bottom.
Mcgee is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Forbes!
Mcgee lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Forbes hang on?


Forbes is rocked!
Mcgee postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Forbes badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Mcgee around the waist but Mcgee pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Mcgee is the winner by TKO! Mcgee jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kerry Mcgee!
An out of breath and clearly excited Kerry Mcgee thanked TITAN for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
