The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mapompo tries to clinch there but Diaz circles away.

Mapompo has managed to clinch.
Mapompo pushes Diaz back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Mapompo throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Diazs head.

Mapompo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Mapompo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Diaz tries to break the clinch but Mapompo is controlling the position.
Diaz can't break the clinch.

Mapompo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mapompo fails in his attempt to clinch.
Diaz doesn't manage to clinch there - Mapompo circles away.
George Mapompo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diaz ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Mapompo moves in looking to clinch but Diaz pushes him off.
A looping hook to the body misses from Diaz. Mapompo does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Diaz counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Mapompo is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Mapompo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Diaz, pushing him back against the ropes.

Mapompo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Mapompo works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Diaz on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Diaz tries to break free but Mapompo pushes him back against the ropes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mapompo lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Diaz takes a shot to the head.
Mapompo works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Mapompo manages to break the clinch.

Diaz tries to keep at a distance but Mapompo has taken the fight into the clinch.
Mapompo throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Diaz wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Mapompo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mapompo throws a good cross that connects.
Diaz circles away from the clinch attempt
and Diaz counters with a big head kick but Mapompo shrugs it off.
Diaz has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Diaz there as he acknowledges the shot.
Mapompo scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Mapompo throws an overhand right that drops Diaz like a sack of potatoes! Mapompo dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
