Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Billy Bishop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Bell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bell is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Muslamic Rape gangs. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Billy Bishop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Bell!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bell wants to get up but he can't break Bishop's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Bishop can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bell controls the pace.

Bell shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Bishop has hold of one of Bell's legs. Bell is fighting the takedown attempt but Bishop gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bishop connects with a nice short shot to Bell's temple.

Bishop tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bell knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

and Bell counters with a leg kick.

Joe Bell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bishop displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bell throws out the jab.
Bishop shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bell as he avoids it easily.
Bishop catches Bell with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Bishop has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Bell after a bit of a struggle.
Bishop pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Bishop uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bell.
Bell tries to clinch but Bishop is having none of it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bell thuds his right hand into Bishop's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Bishop's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Bell connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Bishop scrambles back to his feet.

Bell blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bell is on top in guard.
Bell wants to control from the top but Bishop keeps moving.

Bell decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bishop, up you get!

Bell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bell wants it to stay on the feet.

Bishop changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bell tries to avoid it but Bishop manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bell to the ground. Bell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Bishop lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Bell tries to throw a body punch but Bishop avoids it by throwing Bell back against the cage.
Bell's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Bell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Bell tries to score with a low kick but Bishop moves his leg out of the way.
Bishop ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Bell lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Bishop connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Bell takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Bishop does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Bell takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Bishop shoots in for a takedown but Bell shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Bell creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Bishop is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bell is defending well for now.
