PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wranch Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ustin Aladdin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wranch Hammer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ustin Aladdin!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammer looks to clinch

and Aladdin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Aladdin goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hammer prevents it.
Aladdin blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Aladdin has Hammer pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hammer manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

It looks like Ustin Aladdin has been cut.

Aladdin jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hammer walks away with a smile on his face. Aladdin gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Wranch Hammer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ustin Aladdin.
Aladdin throws a sloppy head kick and Hammer moves out of range easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Let's hope that Aladdin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ustin Aladdin hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Aladdin counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Aladdin.

Aladdin is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Aladdin pulls guard effortlessly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Aladdin holds on and takes a little breather.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Aladdin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hammer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Aladdin somewhat.
Hammer wants to clinch

and Aladdin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Hammer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Aladdin manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Aladdin is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Aladdin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hammer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Aladdin on the ground.
Aladdin's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ustin Aladdin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

I would just about give that final round to Ustin Aladdin.
I've got Aladdin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Ustin Aladdin decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
