The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freely drives through with a takedown into Philips's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Philips looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Philips escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Freely gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Philips looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Freely has picked Philips up and slammed him! Philips can't keep hold of the triangle and Freely manages to pass to side control!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Philips gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Freely thows a huge punch but Philips dodges it nicely.
Philips is staying active underneath Freely, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Freely is trying to control the action in half guard but Philips is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Freely working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Philips's head.

Philips is looking for a triangle but Freely pushes his legs off easily.
Philips really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Freely wants to control from the top but Philips keeps moving.
Philips is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Freely defends well.
Freely is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Philips has momentary wrist control but Freely slips an elbow through the middle.
Freely is in close to Philips's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Philips isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Freely stacks Philips on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Freely!

Freely scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Philips to see if he's OK.

Freely lands a decent elbow from side control.
Oh Philips is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Philips takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Freely cracks Philips with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Freely immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Philips is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Freely!
