The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soares throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Muroi digs a good hook to Soares's body.
Muroi's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Muroi duly obliges.
Nice defenses there by Muroi.
Muroi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Soares throws a right hand that misses
and Muroi counters with a nice uppercut.
Muroi throws a right and a left that both miss.
Muroi wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Muroi works Soares's body with a nice hook.

Muroi lands with an overhand left.
Thiago Soares seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Soares gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Muroi gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

In his post fight interview, Mizushima Muroi started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
