PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mak Artur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Ponting (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Artur comes into the arena with I shall return blaring out of the sound system. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ponting slips a straight right by Artur.
A head kick from Ponting lands but Artur takes it in his stride.
Ponting keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Artur.
Ponting throws a series of punches but Artur moves out of range.
Nice defenses there by Artur.
Ponting lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Artur throws a predictable looking body shot
and Ponting counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Ponting connects with the punch.

Artur darts in and clinches Ponting up against the cage.

Ponting lands with a light punch inside.
Artur digs a right hand into Ponting's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Ponting's gas tank.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Artur just misses with a punch to the body.

A big left from Ponting misses.
Artur tries to move into range but Ponting moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Artur throws a jab but it's blocked by Ponting.
Ponting throws a lazy right hand but Artur sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ponting. Artur does a little dance to reset his feet.

Artur closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ponting's guard.

Artur thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Ponting keeping full guard, as Artur tries to pass.

Artur tries to free his leg and advance position but Ponting is retaining full guard.
Artur forces his way into half guard.

Artur wants to work for an arm triangle but Ponting is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Artur is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ponting sees it coming and defends easily.
Ponting is trying to control but can't.

Artur is looking for a kimura but Ponting is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Artur to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ponting tries to roll over but Artur keeps him under control.

Artur is working for a submission of some sort.

Ponting lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.

Artur is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ponting sees it coming and defends easily.
Ponting is looking for a sweep. Artur is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Ponting is trying to control but can't.
Ponting gets full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Artur thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Artur stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ponting swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ponting has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Artur should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Ponting has tightened it up now! Artur should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
