Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Sabre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Ellenberger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellenberger has chosen Guano Apes - Open Your Eyes as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Sabre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Ellenberger!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellenberger on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Sabre misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ellenberger.
Ellenberger slaps away a takedown attempt from Sabre, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Sabre closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sabre lands in his opponent's guard.
Ellenberger manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sabre manages to get himself to full guard.

Ellenberger feints a jab promting Sabre to slip. Ellenberger then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Sabre slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

That was a close round but I would say that Matt Sabre will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Ellenberger connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Nick Ellenberger is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Sabre throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Ellenberger counters with a three punch combo that has Sabre backing up. Sabre nods at Ellenberger to acknowledge the strikes.

Ellenberger shoots in for a double leg but Sabre sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Sabre pivots, looking for a leg kick but Ellenberger is out of range and Sabre settles back down.
Sabre fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ellenberger looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ellenberger swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sabre looks to throw the jab but Ellenberger is out of range.

Sabre bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Ellenberger's head.

Ellenberger shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sabre manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Sabre is looking for a triangle but Ellenberger pushes his legs off easily.

Sabre has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ellenberger can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ellenberger looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sabre with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sabre is on top in guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ellenberger holds on and takes a little breather.

Sabre wants to control from the top but Ellenberger keeps moving.
Sabre wants to pass the guard but Ellenberger is keeping the position.
Sabre throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ellenberger works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Ellenberger is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Ellenberger goes for a takedown attempt but Sabre pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Ellenberger lands a really nice looking cross but Sabre seems unphased.

Sabre misses with a wild body shot.
Sabre rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ellenberger moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sabre bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ellenberger's head backwards.
Sabre throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sabre throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Ellenberger counters with a straight right hand.
Ellenberger fails to land with a series of punches.
Ellenberger swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sabre misses with a double jab.
Sabre scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Ellenberger displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sabre throws out the jab.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nick Ellenberger comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ellenberger has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
