The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weiser tries to close the distance and clinch but Benoit swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Benoit just misses with a punch to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Weiser looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Weiser wants to clinch up but Benoit keeps it at a distance.
Weiser fails with an attempt to clinch.
Weiser tries to close the distance and clinch but Benoit swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Weiser misses with a two punch combination.
Weiser throws a nice looking combination but Benoit bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Benoit throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Weiser stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Weiser throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Benoit escapes and throws Weiser's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Benoit controls the position.
Benoit's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Benoit in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Benoit swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Weiser is now in Benoit's guard. A big mistake from Benoit there, giving up the dominant position!
Benoit lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Weiser!
Benoit has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Benoit has control of Weiser's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Weiser regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Despite being in the dominant position, Matthieu Benoit just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Benoit breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Benoit drops Weiser with a left right combo! Benoit follows him down to the ground into side control.

Weiser is rocked!

It looks like Bud Weiser has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Benoit decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Oh Weiser is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Weiser checks a low kick from Benoit.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Benoit shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Weiser takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Benoit sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Weiser bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!
