Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vera gets tackled into the cage by Sullivan. Sullivan maintains the clinch.
Vera lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Sullivan backwards.
Sullivan has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Vera after a bit of a struggle.
Vera fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Sullivan struggles to land a body shot inside as Vera controls his hands.
Vera manages to break the clinch.
Vera throws a leg kick but Sullivan sees it coming and moves out of range.
Sullivan tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Sullivan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Vera.
Vera misses with a low kick.

Sullivan has a takedown stuffed.
Sullivan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vera sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sullivan somewhat.

Sullivan tries to close the distance and clinch but Vera swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Vera looks to land a body kick but Sullivan moved away.
Sullivan takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Sullivan looks for a takedown but Vera sprawls well.

Sullivan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Vera tries to escape but Sullivan is in control.
Sullivan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vera keeps working.
Vera avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Sullivan.
Sullivan tries for a kimura but Vera is defending well.
Vera can't do much from the bottom here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vera is looking to regain half guard here but Sullivan keeps moving and retains side control.

Vera is working to avoid the ground and pound but Sullivan connects with a decent elbow.
Sullivan takes a little break here. Vera wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
You can see the frustration on Vera's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Vera is not content to let Sullivan control the position.

Sullivan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Sullivan trying to control the action but Vera is working from the bottom.
Sullivan misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sullivan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That was a close round but I would say that Maurice Sullivan will probably get the nod.

Vera scores with a jab. Sullivan acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Sullivan takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Sullivan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Vera throws a shot from downtown. Sullivan moves away and avoids it.

and Sullivan counters with a shoot takedown. Vera fights it but they end up in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sullivan thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sullivan is keen to just control but Vera is a slippery customer.

Kid Vera showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Vera throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Sullivan shoots in for a takedown but Vera shows good takedown defense.
Sullivan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vera sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Vera lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Sullivan gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Vera displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sullivan.

Vera throws a right hand that Sullivan ducks under and follows up with a left that Sullivan also avoids with ease.

Vera scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Oh Sullivan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Vera! Sullivan is backing up but he can't get away as Vera lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Sullivan and ends the fight. Great knockout.

Kid Vera really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Steel Penn's Laundry 93% logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
