PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Styles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alistair Trash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alistair Trash told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jay Styles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alistair Trash!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Styles scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

You can see the frustration on Trash's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Trash wants to control but Styles postures up.

Styles tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Styles has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Trash tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Trash seems a little lost for a moment, as Styles dominates the positioning.

Styles misses with the ground and pound.
Trash tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Styles presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Styles moves into the clinch successfully.

Trash pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Styles takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Trash is trying to trip Styles. He has hold of a leg but Styles is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Trash persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
