Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Guy Kopec (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kopec comes to the cage accompanied by Boats 'N Hoes. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Guy Kopec! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Quinton Ellis! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice shot lands for Kopec. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ellis. Kopec misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ellis.
Kopec throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ellis tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kopec is in Ellis's guard. Kopec would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Ellis has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Kopec wants to stand and escape but instead Ellis has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Kopec pulls Ellis in close to prevent any damage. Kopec is looking to stand back up but Ellis counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Kopec.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kopec pushes Ellis off looking to stand but Ellis dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ellis wants to pass to mount but Kopec is defending the position. Well, if Ellis is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Quinton Ellis has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Kopec throws the left hand but Ellis avoids the punch easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ellis wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Ellis closes the distance and clinches up with Kopec, looking for a takedown. Ellis pushes Kopec against the cage but Kopec circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ellis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kopec counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Guy Kopec has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quinton Ellis. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ellis is trying to maintain the position but Kopec is very close to passing his half guard. Kopec wants to stand but Ellis has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Ellis is trying is best to control the position here. Kopec wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Ellis uses the opportunity to regain full guard. Kopec stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ellis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kopec sprawls well initially but Ellis persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Kopec wants to get back to full guard. Ellis frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Ellis trying to control but he's not successful this time. Ellis controlling from mount. Ellis trying to control but Kopec is having none of it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Quinton Ellis hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Ellis fails to land the takedown. A jab from Kopec does it's job there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ellis drives through with a takedown into Kopec's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kopec wants to get back to his feet but Ellis is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Ellis is fighting to break Kopec's control of his arms but Kopec is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Ellis wants to control from the top but Kopec keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Guy Kopec will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Kopec shoots in and bounces Ellis off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Kopec has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Ellis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Ellis has a closed guard, preventing Kopec from standing up. Kopec avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ellis slips nicely into half guard. Ellis is looking to take a break and control but Kopec is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kopec is controlling Ellis's position as best he can from this difficult position. Kopec is trying to stand up here but Ellis is controlling him well. Ellis works his foot free and advances to mount. Ellis prevents Kopec from getting the reversal. Ellis sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Kopec squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ellis trying to control but Kopec is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kopec can't escape the position.

Kopec is working hard here to advance position. Ellis wants to take Kopec's back but he can't do it this time. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kopec tries to lock up and control but Ellis gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Ellis looking to control but Kopec is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kopec is looking to get to half guard. Kopec is trying to stand but he's just given Ellis his back. Kopec is trying to get back to his feet but Ellis has full control of the position and if anything, Kopec has just worked his way into a worse spot. Ellis is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Kopec has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Kopec is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ellis tries to get the hooks in deep but Kopec pushed the leg off. Kopec is really stuck here.
Kopec wants to get back to his feet. Well, with Ellis on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Kopec is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Kopec defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ellis tightening his grip on Kopec, looking for the choke. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kopec is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Quinton Ellis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Ellis fails in his attempt to clinch. Kopec gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ellis to score an easy takedown into full guard. Kopec keeping full guard, as Ellis tries to pass. Kopec is looking to stand up but Ellis isn't so interested in that idea. Kopec keeping moving, preventing Ellis from controlling successfully. Ellis won't allow Kopec to sweep him here. Kopec wants to stand up but Ellis is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Quinton Ellis was stalling too much, according to the referee. Ellis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kopec as he jumps to the side. Ellis gets a takedown into half guard. Ellis prevents Kopec from standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ellis looking to pass the guard. Kopec wriggles free and stands up. Kopec shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ellis napping and manages to drive through into side control! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kopec stands up and beckons Ellis to his feet. Ellis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kopec but Kopec pushes him off and we're back to square one. Nice straight punches there by Kopec. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kopec. Guy Kopec seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kopec misses with a right hand enabling Ellis to counter with a crisp jab. Kopec lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kopec.
Ellis is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kopec throws an overhand right that has Ellis reeling! Kopec follows up with more punches and Ellis is out cold! This one is all over!
