PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ljudevit Posavski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Posavski comes to the cage accompanied by Tram 11 A vi svi. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ljudevit Posavski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick James!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Posavski tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but James swivels and escapes.
Posavski fails with the takedown

and James counters with a single leg into guard. Posavski didn't expect that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
James preventing the sweep.
James throws a big elbow that misses.

Posavski throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
James tries to free his leg and advance position but Posavski is retaining full guard.
Posavski wants to get back to his feet but James is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
James trying to control the position from guard on top but Posavski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Posavski is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Posavski escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. James gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
James working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
James with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
James throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Posavski works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Posavski is looking for a triangle here but James uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
James wants to lay and pray for a moment but Posavski keeps working.

James sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Posavski is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Posavski takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
James looks up at the clock and then as Posavski takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, James smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Posavski is breathing heavily.
James trying to control the action but Posavski is working from the bottom.

James decides to stand back up.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Posavski tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. James manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Posavski closes this distance looking for a takedown but James circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ljudevit Posavski. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Posavski fails with an attempt to clinch.
Posavski staying out of range there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
James moves in looking to clinch but Posavski pushes him off.
James throws a wild body kick that Posavski sees coming a mile off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick James dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Posavski has his takedown stuffed

and James counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
James is stalling here. Posavski is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! James seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Posavski has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Posavski is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but James is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Posavski is staying tight to James's torso, preventing him from escaping.
James prevents Posavski from improving position.

Nick James has got the better of the ground game so far.
Posavski in side control, throwing shots but James defends.
James wants to control but Posavski postures up.
Posavski trying to control the action but James is working from the bottom.
James tries to buck Posavski off but Posavski is having none of it.

James manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
James controlling the position well.
Posavski throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
James keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
James really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Posavski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
James is trying to stand back up but Posavski is controlling him
Posavski is pressing down on James's thigh, looking to free his foot. James is holding on for now.
Posavski wants to lay and pray for a moment but James keeps working.
James is concentrating on defense, preventing Posavski from advancing position.

Posavski wants to control but James is keeping him busy.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Posavski has his takedown stuffed

and James counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by James.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
James lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
James is stalling here.
Posavski blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Posavski has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by James after a bit of a struggle.

James is trying to force a seperation but Posavski has the dominant position.
James tries to stall but Posavski uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
James can't get the takedown.
James is pressed up against the cage. Posavski has hold of a leg and is looking to drag James down to the mat. James avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

James is trying hard to land a takedown here. Posavski sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
James swings and misses with a hook to the body.

James closes the distance and clinches.
James is working for takedown but Posavski is calmly controlling the position for now.

Posavski is looking to take a break and control but James is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
James wants to control but Posavski is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Nick James showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

James throws a head kick but Posavski moves out of range.

James shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than James was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Posavski in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
James is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Posavski can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Posavski tries to hold on but James postures up.
Oh Posavski is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
A big strike lands for James! That's really hurt Posavski and he's turned his back - James keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! James jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nick James!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Nick James waved his t-shirt featuring Black Hand Fight Gear & Laundry's logo in front of the cameras.
