Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Kavanagh and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson looks to clinch
and Chara counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Thompson tries to close the distance and clinch but Chara swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Thompson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Chara connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Thompson scrambles back to his feet.
Thompson tries to clinch but Chara is having none of it.
Chara catches Thompson with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Thompson is looking to clinch.
Thompson takes the fight into the clinch.
Thompson breaks the clinch.
Chara lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chara stalks Thompson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Thompson's face. Thompson staggers backwards, shaken.
Chara smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Thompson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chara paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Thompson walks into a stiff left hand from Chara.
Chara throws an overhand right that drops Thompson like a sack of potatoes! Chara dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zdeno Chara!
