The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mondero has Santos up against the cage in a clinch.
Santos looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Mondero manages to break the clinch.
Mondero tries to clinch there but Santos circles away.
Mondero closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mondero lands in his opponent's guard.
Mondero sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Mondero passes into half guard.
Mondero is controlling the pace.
Mondero tries to pass the half guard into mount. Santos knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Mondero thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Santos's head.
Mondero has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mondero in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Santos tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Mondero!
