Boonjumnong is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Ecstasy of Gold (remix) - Ennio Morricone. Somjit Boonjumnong acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steele circles away from the clinch attempt.
Steele dips to his left and cracks Boonjumnong with an uppercut!

Boonjumnong tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Steele swivels and escapes.
Steele is looking to wear down Boonjumnong with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Boonjumnong moves away from the strike by Steele.
Steele lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Boonjumnong circles away quickly and effectively.

Boonjumnong tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Steele paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Steele stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Steele lands a left hand that snaps the head of Boonjumnong backwards.

Steele pushes Boonjumnong back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Boonjumnong drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Steele lands with a right to the head.

Steele escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Steele throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Boonjumnong stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Boonjumnong slips a jab from Steele.
Steele tries to bum rush Boonjumnong with a series of wild strikes but Boonjumnong uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Steele misses with a hook. Boonjumnong ducked under it nicely.

Steele drives through and clinches with Boonjumnong against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steele drops Boonjumnong with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Boonjumnong looks back up at him and smiles so Steele waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Steele fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Boonjumnong manages to avoid it.

Steele throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Boonjumnong.
Steele throws a hook to the side of Boonjumnong's head but Boonjumnong sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Boonjumnong bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Stanley Steele seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boonjumnong swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
