The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid body kick from Thorpe.
Malenko misses with an uppercut. Thorpe saw that one coming.
Thorpe lands a nice looking body shot.
Scott Thorpe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Malenko is breathing heavily.

Malenko takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Thorpe lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Malenko shoots in looking for a takedown but Thorpe manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Malenko's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Malenko takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Thorpe lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Thorpe feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Malenko crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
