Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Do (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey De Andreas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). De Andreas has chosen Rocky as his entrance music. Daniel Do had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Joey De Andreas is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Do!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joey De Andreas!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Andreas shoots in and drives through. Do sprawls well.
Do misses with a body shot.

De Andreas fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Do, pushing him back against the cage.

De Andreas breaks from the clinch.
A left lands for De Andreas.

De Andreas closes the distance and clinches.
De Andreas wants a takedown but no success here.
Do tried to land a shot to the body but connects with De Andreas's elbow.
De Andreas missing with knees to the body.
De Andreas tries for a takedown. No joy.
Daniel Do has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joey De Andreas.
De Andreas has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
De Andreas throws a knee to the head but misses.
De Andreas throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Do blocks it with crossed arms.

Do is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
De Andreas goes for a takedown in the clinch but Do prevents it.

Do misses with a punch to the body.
Do stops a takedown attempt from De Andreas.
De Andreas is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Do to keep the fight standing.

Do fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Do bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Do is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
De Andreas is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Do seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

De Andreas takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Do digs a right hand underneath De Andreas's ribcage. De Andreas let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Do pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
De Andreas misses with a two punch combination.
Do throws a jab when De Andreas was well out of range.
A big left from Do misses.

De Andreas gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Do scores with a hook to the body.
A frustrated look appears on De Andreas's face as he tries to break the clinch.
De Andreas tries to break the clinch but Do is controlling the position.
De Andreas is working Do over against the cage.
A short right from Do on the inside.
Do can't find room to land a body shot as De Andreas controls the action.

and Do counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Daniel Do has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joey De Andreas.

Do misses with a wild combination.

De Andreas gets caught napping as Do dives in and scores a takedown. De Andreas manages to retain guard.
De Andreas manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Do holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as De Andreas tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Do wants to control but De Andreas is having none of it.

De Andreas sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Do bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Do wants to control from the top but De Andreas keeps moving.

Daniel Do overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Do is in close to De Andreas's body, working some short punches and elbows.
De Andreas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Do is one step ahead there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Sloppy strikes from De Andreas. Those never looked like landing.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from De Andreas.

De Andreas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Do circles away quickly and effectively.
Do throws a push kick but De Andreas slaps the foot to one side.
Do throws a front kick aimed at De Andreas's knee but De Andreas avoids it well.
De Andreas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Do uses his free foot to push down on De Andreas's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for De Andreas.

Do is going oldschool here, as he tries to force De Andreas to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so De Andreas shrugs it off.

That was a close round but Daniel Do did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
