The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Svin pushes Maier up against the cage in a clinch.
Maier goes for a takedown attempt but Svin pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Maier closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Svin jumps guard and drags Maier to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Maier is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Svin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Svin has escaped and now he's on top!

Svin stands up and waves to Maier to follow him.

Svin has taken the fight to the clinch.
Maier is trying to force a seperation but Svin has the dominant position.

Maier pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Svin fails with an attempt to clinch.

Svin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Maier's half guard.
Maier tries to get to full guard but Svin has control of the leg.
Svin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Maier's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Svin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Maier keeps working.

Maier tries to roll over but Svin keeps him under control.
Maier slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Maier is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Svin rolls with it to try and escape but Maier cranks on the arm and Svin is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
