Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexander James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Canadian Assassin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James's entrance music is It's Amazing by Kanye West. A fine choice. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Alexander James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Canadian Assassin!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Assassin with that takedown attempt.
Assassin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Assassin shoots in but no luck this time.
Alexander James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Canadian Assassin.
James connects with a jab.

Assassin shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
James regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Assassin.
Assassin throwing strikes but missing.
James working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Assassin.
James knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Assassin on the ground.
Assassin with a flurry of punches that miss.
Assassin content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
James wants to stand and escape but Assassin is having none of it.
Assassin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Assassin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Assassin postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Assassin landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

Assassin swings around for an armbar but James sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Assassin's guard.
James wanted to stand there but Assassin had control of the position.

Assassin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. James doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. James manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Assassin looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Assassin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. James gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Assassin looking for a guillotine here but James defends easily.

James stands up and waves to Assassin to follow him.
Assassin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. James defends it nicely.
James displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Assassin.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Assassin.
Assassin slips under a jab from James.
Assassin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by James.
Assassin shoots in for a double leg but James sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Assassin with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling James to score with a decent uppercut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Assassin takes a jab right on the kisser.
James rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Assassin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in James's guard now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Assassin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Assassin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Assassin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Assassin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Assassin lands a couple of elbows.
Assassin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Canadian Assassin dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Assassin closes this distance looking for a takedown but James circles away.
James fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Assassin on the side of the head.
James misses with a hook.
No luck for Assassin with that takedown attempt.

Alexander James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Canadian Assassin.
James keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
James fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Assassin manages to avoid it.
James connects with the punch.
James getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Assassin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and James counters with a left to the body.
Assassin shoots in looking for a takedown. James tries to sprawl out of it but Assassin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. James manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
James stuffs the takedown attempt from Assassin. Assassin gets slowly back to his feet.
Assassin is breathing heavily.
Assassin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. James tries to avoid it but Assassin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag James to the ground. James escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Alexander James is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice sprawl there from James as Assassin shoots in.
James throws a one two combo.
James takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
James connects with a body shot that sends Assassin's belly button to the back.
Assassin closes the distance and clinches up with James, looking for a takedown. Assassin pushes James against the cage but James circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Assassin walks into a stiff left hand from James.
James darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
James loads up on a big right hand but Assassin slips the punch.
James throws a lazy right hand but Assassin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
James throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
James thows a body shot but no joy.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Assassin takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
No luck for Assassin with that takedown attempt.
Horrible takedown by Assassin or perhaps it was just good defense by James which made him look bad.
Assassin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. James defends it nicely.

and James cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Assassin gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! James gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexander James!
