PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brutus Maximus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trav Perrin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maximus comes to the cage accompanied by Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive. The key to victory for Brutus Maximus has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brutus Maximus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Trav Perrin!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maximus tries to close the distance and clinch but Perrin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Maximus looking to score a takedown here. Perrin is defending well but Maximus drives through and ends up in Perrin's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Maximus is working Perrin over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Maximus will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Maximus with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perrin is controlling Maximus's posture.
Maximus wanted to stand there but Perrin had control of the position.

Maximus is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Perrin has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Maximus is looking to defend but Perrin has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Maximus! Perrin pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Maximus taps out and this one is all over!
