PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Barry Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arshad Singh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott comes into the arena with Bang - By Barry Scott blaring out of the sound system. Singh is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Check it out. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Arshad Singh enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Barry Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Arshad Singh!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Singh is out of range.

Scott gets the takedown into side control.
Scott advances to full mount.
Singh is looking to get to half guard.
Scott controlling from the full mount.
Singh bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Scott has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Singh can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The strikes coming from Singh are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Scott fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Singh.
Scott tries to land a front kick but Singh steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Singh gets tackled into the cage by Scott. Scott maintains the clinch.
Scott is looking for a takedown.
Scott throws a punch but it's blocked by Singh.
Scott throws a head punch that misses.
Scott lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Singh manages to break the clinch.
Singh moves out of range of the leg kick from Scott.

Singh tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Scott was well out of range. Poor timing from Singh.

Scott scores with a head kick. Singh tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Singh plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Singh shoots for a double leg takedown but Scott sprawls well. He's pushed Singh's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Scott takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Singh tries to sprawl but Scott drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Scott is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Singh!
Singh sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Barry Scott overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Scott stands and throws Singh's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Singh is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Scott is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Scott wants to control the pace but Singh is squirming around nicely.
Singh is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Barry Scott will probably get the nod.

Scott misses with a wild body shot.
Singh throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Scott scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Singh thows a body shot but no joy.
Scott swings for the body but Singh moves out of range.
Singh on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Scott tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Singh is able to avoid easily.
Singh shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Scott as he avoids it easily.
Some bone on bone action there as Scott checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Nice defenses there by Scott.
Horrible takedown by Scott or perhaps it was just good defense by Singh which made him look bad.
Scott tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Singh paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Scott lands a nice looking body shot.
Scott uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Singh.

Scott drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Scott is looking to take a break and control but Singh is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Singh tries to bench press Scott off him but Scott keeps the position.

Barry Scott tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
