PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brett Dongalletta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaun Montague (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Brett Dongalletta has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Brett Dongalletta seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brett Dongalletta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shaun Montague!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montague fails to land the takedown.
Dongalletta shoots in for a takedown but Montague shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Dongalletta is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Montague's half guard.

Montague is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Montague fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dongalletta to the ground. Montague is now in Dongalletta's guard.

Dongalletta really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Dongalletta fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Dongalletta is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Montague to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Montague shrugs it off.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Dongalletta shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Montague as he avoids it easily.

Montague manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dongalletta on his heels. He'll look to pass Dongalletta's guard now, I'm sure.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brett Dongalletta.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dongalletta, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
