Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Soujiro Arashikage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Barbosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barbosa has chosen Eye of the tiger as his entrance music. Igor Barbosa acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Soujiro Arashikage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Igor Barbosa!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barbosa closes the distance and clinches.

Barbosa is trying to trip Arashikage. He has hold of a leg but Arashikage is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Barbosa persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Barbosa pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Arashikage is keeping the position for now.
Barbosa trying to control but Arashikage is working from the bottom.
Barbosa won't allow Arashikage to get back to his feet.
Barbosa is standing up over Arashikage. Arashikage looks to escape but Barbosa dives into side control.

Arashikage trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like Barbosa might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Arashikage is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Barbosa is controlling him well.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Barbosa tries to land a leg kick but Arashikage saw it coming and moves away.

Barbosa closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Arashikage to the mat! Arashikage manages to get full guard.
Arashikage can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Barbosa controls the pace.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Soujiro Arashikage will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Igor Barbosa's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Arashikage is looking to clinch but Barbosa is avoiding it.

and Arashikage counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Arashikage.

Arashikage pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

so Barbosa counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Barbosa is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Barbosa tries to free his leg and advance position but Arashikage is retaining full guard.

Arashikage pushes Barbosa off and scrambles back to his feet.

Arashikage fails with an attempt to clinch.
Arashikage tries a head kick but it misses.
Arashikage throws a sloppy head kick and Barbosa moves out of range easily.

Barbosa decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Arashikage is trying to stand up here but Barbosa is controlling him well.

Barbosa stops Arashikage from getting back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Arashikage on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Arashikage tries to get out of the position.
Arashikage tries to kick Barbosa off in order to stand up. Barbosa Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Barbosa is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Arashikage is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Barbosa gets his way!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Arashikage is trying to get back to his feet but Barbosa has full control of the position and if anything, Arashikage has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Igor Barbosa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Arashikage has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Igor Barbosa decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
