The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lakes tries to score a power double leg takedown but Johnson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lakes somewhat.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Johnson has eaten all the pies!
Johnson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Lakes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Johnson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Lakes shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Johnson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Lakes stands and throws Johnson's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Lakes with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lakes is on top in guard.

Lakes drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lakes jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Johnson kicks off Lakes and gets to his feet.
Johnson takes a head kick and keeps coming.

and Lakes counters with a single leg into guard. Johnson didn't expect that.
Johnson wants to stand and escape but Lakes is having none of it.
Johnson wants to hit a switch here but Lakes passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Johnson there!
Johnson is in a horrible position here. Lakes smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lakes can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Johnson is looking to escape.
Johnson is desperately trying to improve his position but Lakes has a good base and remains in mount.
