Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Experiment Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Phil Schofield and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guy misses with a right hand
and Edwards counters with a nice body kick.

Edwards scores a takedown into full mount!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Guy looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
I would not like to be Guy right now.
Guy tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Guy is wriggling around trying to escape.
Guy wants to hold on but Edwards pushes him away.
Guy is trying desperately to improve position.

Edwards throws some wild stikes that Guy manages to avoid easily.

Edwards has control of Guy's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Guy regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Guy tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Guy wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Edwards.
Guy is in all sorts of trouble here.

Edwards get's back to his feet.

Edwards closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Guy did well to prevent Edwards getting side control.
Edwards not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Edwards keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Guy tries to get to full guard but Edwards has control of the leg.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Edwards is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Edwards tries to pass the half guard into mount. Guy knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Edwards throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

Guy is trying to take his opponent's back.

Edwards is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Guy gets his way!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Guy wants to control but Edwards is keeping busy.

A close round but Experiment Guy will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Edwards avoids the body shot from Guy.

Edwards feints and as Guy raises his hands in defense, Edwards changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Guy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Edwards gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Guy trying to keep a closed guard but Edwards is proving a slippery customer.
Guy has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Edwards has passed into side control.
Guy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Edwards wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Guy is persistently looking for the submission but Edwards is defending it well.

Guy is working for a submission of some sort.
Edwards is in trouble now - Guy has advanced to mount!

Edwards knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Guy on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Edwards is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Guy pulls his head out easily.

Guy is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Guy extends the arm and Edwards is forced to tap!
