Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Holda Opp!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez shoots in for a takedown but Opp shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A swing and a miss from Opp.
Alvarez looks for a takedown but Opp sprawls well.
Alvarez takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Alvarez has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Alvarez there as he acknowledges the shot.
Opp dips to his left and cracks Alvarez with an uppercut!
A looping hook to the body misses from Opp. Alvarez does a little dance to reset his feet.
Santiago Alvarez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Alvarez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Opp sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alvarez somewhat.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Alvarez. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Opp bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Alvarez's head backwards.
Alvarez takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Opp scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Opp uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Alvarez has time to react.

The fighters circle momentarily. Opp darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Opp sizes up Alvarez with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Opp lands a really nice looking cross but Alvarez seems unphased.

Opp moves into range and connects with a jab.
Opp stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.


Alvarez is rocked!
Opp leaves Alvarez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Oh Alvarez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Opp cracks Alvarez with an open hand slap.
Opp lands a nice shot to the body.
Alvarez seems to have got his legs back now.
Opp lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Opp paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Alvarez avoids a punch combination nicely.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Opp looks to land a combination. Alvarez sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Holda Opp dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Opp wants to improve his position but Alvarez is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alvarez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Opp swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Opp is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Alvarez is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Opp is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Alvarez is staying active.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Alvarez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Opp tries to avoid it but Alvarez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Opp to the ground. Opp escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Opp has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close second round but I would say that Santiago Alvarez will probably get the nod.

Alvarez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Opp's waist but Opp gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alvarez off to one side.

Holda Opp comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Opp has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
