Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seth Alexis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quick Twist!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Twist tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Alexis could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Alexis takes a swing at Twist's ribcage but misses.
Twist misses the shot to the body.
Twist closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Alexis wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Twist goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Alexis has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Twist but great work by Alexis.
Twist tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Twist wants to control but Alexis postures up.
Twist gets back to half guard.
Twist makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Twist.
Alexis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Twist is proving hard to escape from.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Twist is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Twist had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Alexis defends it easily.
Alexis with a flurry of punches that miss.
Twist preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Twist working for submissions but it's allowed Alexis to get to half guard.
It looks like Alexis is going to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alexis prevents Twist from improving his position.
Twist is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Alexis pulls his head out easily.
Twist moves into full guard.
Twist looking for a triangle here. Alexis is fighting it but it looks tight! Twist pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Alexis is tapping out - this one is all over!
