The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Unterweger tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Parsons swivels and escapes.
A slapping body kick lands there for Parsons.

Unterweger shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Unterweger seems to be working for a kimura but Parsons defends the submission attempt.
Unterweger has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Unterweger looking to secure an arm triangle but Parsons defends it well.
Parsons is in all sorts of trouble here.

Unterweger is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Parsons has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Parsons bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Parsons tries to stand but Unterweger is controlling from the bottom.
Parsons stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Unterweger swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Parsons passes Unterweger's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Parsons prevents Unterweger from improving his position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Parsons slips a nice elbow through Unterweger's hands, connecting with Unterweger's forehead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Parsons stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Unterweger looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Horrible takedown by Unterweger or perhaps it was just good defense by Parsons which made him look bad.
