Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Xes Rehtnap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viktor Reznov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Xes Rehtnap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Viktor Reznov!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rehtnap closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Reznov to the mat! Reznov manages to get full guard.

Reznov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rehtnap gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Reznov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Reznov is looking to stand up but Rehtnap isn't so interested in that idea.
Rehtnap has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Rehtnap won't allow Reznov to sweep him here.
Rehtnap wants to stand but Reznov is controlling his posture from full guard.
Reznov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Reznov uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Rehtnap throws a nice looking combination but Reznov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Rehtnap closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rehtnap lands in his opponent's guard.

Reznov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Reznov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Reznov is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Rehtnap has managed to free his arm - good work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Viktor Reznov has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Horrible takedown by Reznov or perhaps it was just good defense by Rehtnap which made him look bad.

Reznov closes the distance and clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Xes Rehtnap will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Rehtnap throws a series of punches but Reznov moves out of range.

Rehtnap lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Rehtnap wants to control but Reznov is keeping him busy.
Rehtnap knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reznov on the ground.

Reznov is looking to clinch.

Rehtnap feints and as Reznov raises his hands in defense, Rehtnap changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Rehtnap looking to sit in guard and control but Reznov gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reznov throwing shots but Rehtnap is blocking nicely.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Reznov is working for a submission of some sort.
Reznov not doing much here.
Rehtnap wants to improve his position but Reznov is controlling well.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Viktor Reznov wasn't active enough on the ground.
Reznov fails with a takedown attempt.

Rehtnap shoots in and gets a takedown into Reznov's guard.
Rehtnap throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Reznov works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rehtnap trying to control the position from guard on top but Reznov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rehtnap postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Reznov has his foot on Rehtnap's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rehtnap works his way back into a safe position though.
Reznov controls Rehtnap momentarily but Rehtnap frees himself.

Reznov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Reznov utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Rehtnap would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Reznov wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Reznov has a closed guard, preventing Rehtnap from standing up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Xes Rehtnap will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Rehtnap seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Reznov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Reznov pulls Rehtnap in close to prevent any damage.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Rehtnap changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Reznov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Rehtnap is looking to work some ground and pound but Reznov has wrist control.

Reznov has control of Rehtnap's left arm, preventing Rehtnap from doing any damage.
Xes Rehtnap overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Rehtnap wants to control from the top but Reznov keeps moving.

Reznov has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Rehtnap off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Reznov moves to clinch but Rehtnap breaks away

and Rehtnap counters by clinching up.
Reznov effectively controlling the action here.
Reznov tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rehtnap smiles and moves away.

Rehtnap gets a takedown into half guard.
Reznov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Reznov makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Reznov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Rehtnap moves into the clinch.
Reznov is looking to take this one to the mat.
Xes Rehtnap has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Viktor Reznov.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Rehtnap's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
