Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Poppy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kjell Sword (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nick Poppy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kjell Sword!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sword keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Sword throws an overhand right that lands on Poppy's shoulder, as Poppy tries to avoid the shot.

Sword gets caught napping as Poppy dives in and scores a takedown. Sword manages to retain guard.
Poppy stands and throws Sword's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Poppy is trying to get an arm triangle but Sword is defending well.
Poppy working the strikes but Sword uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Poppy wants to free his trapped foot but Sword is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Poppy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sword does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Poppy is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sword holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Poppy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Poppy's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Poppy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Poppy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sword throws a shot from downtown. Poppy moves away and avoids it.
Sword just misses with a punch to the body.

Poppy slaps away a takedown attempt from Sword, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Poppy tries to land a leg kick but Sword saw it coming and moves away.
Sword avoids a punch combination nicely.
Horrible takedown by Sword or perhaps it was just good defense by Poppy which made him look bad.

A looping hook to the body misses from Sword. Poppy does a little dance to reset his feet.

Nick Poppy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kjell Sword.
Poppy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sword.
Poppy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sword moves away.
Sword tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Poppy was well out of range. Poor timing from Sword.

The fighters circling - Poppy throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Sword creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Poppy sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Poppy is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Poppy is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sword's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sword drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Poppy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sword can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Poppy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sword gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Poppy is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sword is aware though and is defending well.
Sword chips away with some ground and pound.
Sword looking to sit in guard and control but Poppy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Poppy is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sword is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sword has escaped and now he's on top!

Poppy has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Sword should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Poppy has tightened it up now! Sword should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
