Rood has chosen - as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Brad Rood has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luke Gardner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brad Rood!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gardner moves away from the strike by Rood.
Gardner throws a jab when Rood was well out of range.
Rood takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Rood fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gardner manages to avoid it.
Gardner has a takedown stuffed.
Rood changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gardner tries to avoid it but Rood manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gardner to the ground. Gardner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rood missing with a left hand there. Gardner was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Rood fails to land the takedown.
Gardner works over Rood's head and body with a nice combination.
Rood misses with a body shot
and Gardner counters with a right hand to the body.
Rood looks to land a right hand but Gardner moved out of range.
Rood misses with a hook. Gardner ducked under it nicely.
Rood misses the shot to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gardner slips under a jab.
Rood looks to throw the jab but Gardner is out of range.
Rood throws a looping overhand right but Gardner ducks down to avoid it.
Rood swings widly with a right hand

and Gardner counters with a head kick that drops Rood to the mat! Rood scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Rood is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rood looks to throw the jab but Gardner is out of range.
Brad Rood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rood throws a hook to the side of Gardner's head but Gardner sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rood blocks a head kick by Gardner.
Rood slips a jab and a cross from Gardner.
Rood misses with an uppercut.
Rood looks to land a left hand but Gardner moved out of range nicely.
Gardner walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Rood checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Rood swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Gardner connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Rood is still on wobbly legs! Can Gardner finish him?
Rood waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gardner.
Rood seems to have recovered his senses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gardner. Rood does a little dance to reset his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gardner throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
