Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Great Pete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg The Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Great Pete!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Oleg The Beast!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pete misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The Beast fails with an attempt to clinch.

Pete closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. The Beast did well to prevent Pete getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The Beast is trying to stand back up but Pete is controlling him
The Beast is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
The Beast wants to improve his position but Pete is controlling well.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Pete lands a nice short elbow.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pete connects with a nice short shot to The Beast's temple.
The Beast moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Pete has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of The Beast is proving hard to escape from.
Pete lands a couple of digs.

Pete lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

The Beast is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pete is aware though and is defending well.
The Beast is looking to stand up but Pete isn't so interested in that idea.

Pete is in close to The Beast's body, working some short punches and elbows.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The Beast fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Pete.

The Beast rushes Pete and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Pete looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Pete wants to break free but The Beast has control.

The Beast's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The Beast fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Pete shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. The Beast defends it nicely.
Pete has a takedown stuffed.
Pete shoots in but The Beast avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Great Pete. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The Beast throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pete tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. The Beast is in Pete's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The Beast would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Pete bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in The Beast's guard.

Pete stands up and waves to The Beast to follow him.
The Beast feints a jab promting Pete to slip. The Beast then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Pete slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
The Beast lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by The Beast.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The Beast with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
The Beast tries to clinch but Pete moves away

and Pete decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in The Beast's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pete stands up from The Beast's guard - Pete perhaps looking for a knockout.
The Beast throws a series of strikes that have Pete backpedaling.

Pete closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. The Beast quickly recovers to half guard.
Pete wants to control but The Beast is keeping him busy.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pete connects with a nice short shot to The Beast's temple.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Pete lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Great Pete dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


The Beast with a poor takedown

and Pete counters with a nice double leg into side control. The Beast won't be happy with that.
Pete lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Pete is working The Beast over with some ground and pound from side control.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The Beast wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

The Beast sneaks out the side door and pushes Pete away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Pete changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. The Beast tries to avoid it but Pete manages to keep hold of a leg and drag The Beast to the ground. The Beast escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The Beast shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The Beast is breathing heavily.

Pete keeping hold of The Beast's head, controlling as best he can.
Pete tries to kick The Beast off in order to stand up. The Beast Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

The Beast decides to take the fight back to the feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The Beast softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

The Beast escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The Beast stuffs the takedown.
The Beast tries to close the distance and clinch but Pete swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Oleg The Beast seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The Beast lands a nice looking body shot.
The Beast tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Pete manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The Beast tries to clinch but Pete is having none of it.
Pete tries for a takedown but The Beast sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

The Beast shoots in for a takedown but Pete shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


The Beast doesn't manage to clinch there - Pete circles away.

Pete gets caught napping as The Beast dives in and scores a takedown. Pete manages to retain guard.

Pete had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. The Beast defends it easily.

Pete wriggles free and stands up.

The Beast closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Pete tries to bench press The Beast off him but The Beast keeps the position.

The Beast decides to stand back up. The Beast steps back and let's Pete get back to his feet.
Pete throws a left and a right that both miss

and The Beast counters by moving into the clinch.

The Beast lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
The Beast takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Pete drops down looking for an ankle pick but The Beast pulls his leg out and moves away.
Pete shoots in looking for a takedown. The Beast tries to sprawl out of it but Pete keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. The Beast manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The Beast moves in looking to clinch but Pete pushes him off.

The Beast scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
The Beast connects with a solid leg kick.
The Beast tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
The Beast shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pete defends it nicely.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from The Beast, right into the meat.
Pete throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The Beast scores with a one two! Pete had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
The Beast tries to clinch up but Pete circles away and keeps his distance.

The Beast moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Pete shoots for a double leg takedown but The Beast sprawls well. He's pushed Pete's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Great Pete. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The Beast gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Pete takes an elbow to the forehead.
The Beast is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Great Pete is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The Beast pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The Beast feints and then cracks Pete's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pete down.
The Beast shoots in for a double leg but Pete sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Pete counters with a single leg into guard. The Beast didn't expect that.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pete passes The Beast's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Pete is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The Beast has hold of Pete's hands but Pete slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The Beast looks like he's trying to stand up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Great Pete has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

The Beast fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pete sprawls well initially but The Beast persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Oleg The Beast comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Pete has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
