Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Corey Norman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Mercer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Mercer!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Norman darts in and clinches Mercer up against the cage.

Mercer has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Norman is trying to keep an underhook but Mercer manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Mercer is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Norman is looking for a sweep. Mercer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Mercer is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Mercer is trying to control the action in half guard but Norman is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Norman is working for a guillotine from mount but Mercer frees his head quite easily.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Norman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Norman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

You can see the frustration on Mercer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Norman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That was a close second round but I would say that Corey Norman will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

I think Mercer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
