15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Junior Gracie! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! da Silva tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gracie was well out of range. Poor timing from da Silva. A punch combination from da Silva misses. Gracie looks for a takedown but da Silva sprawls well. da Silva drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. da Silva tries for a kimura but Gracie is defending well. da Silva has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Gracie is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. da Silva yanks on the arm and Gracie is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by da Silva.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sebastiao da Silva! A relieved looking Sebastiao da Silva thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
