PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dun Fighten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrone Doherty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dun Fighten!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tyrone Doherty!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doherty throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fighten sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Doherty moves in looking to clinch but Fighten pushes him off.

Doherty is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Fighten.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Doherty lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Fighten has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Fighten and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Fighten clinches.

Doherty escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Doherty.

Fighten really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Fighten has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Doherty shoots in for a double leg but Fighten sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Fighten makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tyrone Doherty dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Doherty feints a jab promting Fighten to slip. Doherty then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Fighten slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Fighten avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Doherty throws a nice looking combination but Fighten bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Fighten has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Doherty uses from the top position.

Fighten had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Doherty defends it easily.
