Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bembol Oblaks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Abramov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abramov is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Sex Machine. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bembol Oblaks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roman Abramov!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oblaks shoots in and bounces Abramov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Abramov keeping full guard, as Oblaks tries to pass.
Oblaks seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Oblaks drops back looking for a leg! Abramov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Abramov manages to kick Oblaks off! Oblaks jumps back into Abramov's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oblaks advances to half guard.
Oblaks trying to pass the guard but Abramov defending well.

Oblaks wants to work for an arm triangle but Abramov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Abramov is refusing to be controlled, as Oblaks sits in half guard.

Oblaks is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Abramov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Oblaks.

Abramov kicks Oblaks off and gets back to his feet.
Oblaks misses with a wild body shot.
Oblaks misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Oblaks slaps away a takedown attempt from Abramov, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Abramov throws a head kick but Oblaks moves out of range.
Abramov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Oblaks swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Horrible takedown by Oblaks or perhaps it was just good defense by Abramov which made him look bad.

and Oblaks decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Abramov's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Oblaks is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Abramov is trying to stand.
Abramov controlling the position well.
Oblaks is pressing down on Abramov's thigh, looking to free his foot. Abramov is holding on for now.

Oblaks is trying to work for a kimura but Abramov is defending well.

Oblaks is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Abramov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Oblaks.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oblaks wants to take a breather but Abramov is having none of it.

Oblaks seems to be working for a kimura but Abramov defends the submission attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Oblaks is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bembol Oblaks dominated that round.
That's time! Oblaks's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Oblaks looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Abramov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Oblaks.
Abramov throws a head kick but Oblaks moves out of range.
A solid leg kick lands there for Oblaks.
Horrible takedown by Abramov or perhaps it was just good defense by Oblaks which made him look bad.

Oblaks shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Oblaks showed some decent athleticism there.

Oblaks is working for a submission of some sort.
Bembol Oblaks overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Oblaks wants to work for an arm triangle but Abramov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Abramov tries to get to full guard but Oblaks has control of the leg.
Abramov is controlling Oblaks's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Abramov is in trouble now - Oblaks has advanced to mount!
Abramov is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Oblaks trying to control but Abramov is having none of it.

Oblaks looking to control and managing it successfully.

Oblaks jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Abramov is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Abramov and Oblaks has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Oblaks wants to lay and pray for a moment but Abramov keeps working.
You can see the frustration on Abramov's face as Oblaks controls the position.

Oblaks trying to control the action but Abramov is working from the bottom.

Oblaks goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Abramov rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Oblaks's guard! Nice work there by Abramov!
Abramov has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Oblaks is proving hard to escape from.

We're going to have a standup here because Bembol Oblaks wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Abramov moves in looking to clinch but Oblaks pushes him off.
Abramov tries for a takedown but Oblaks sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Oblaks is defended easily by Abramov.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bembol Oblaks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Abramov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Abramov wants it to stay on the feet.

Oblaks has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Abramov.
Abramov just misses with a punch to the body.

Abramov wants to control from the top but Oblaks keeps moving.

Oblaks has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Abramov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Oblaks utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Oblaks looking for a guillotine here but Abramov defends easily.

Abramov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Oblaks has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Abramov has managed to get both his arms back between Oblaks's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Abramov shoots in for a takedown but Oblaks shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nice takedown defense from Abramov. No joy for Oblaks on that attempt.
Abramov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Oblaks sprawls well. Oblaks wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Abramov gets slowly back to his feet.
Abramov shoots for a double leg takedown but Oblaks sprawls well. He's pushed Abramov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bembol Oblaks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roman Abramov.
Abramov shoots in looking for a takedown. Oblaks tries to sprawl out of it but Abramov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Oblaks manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Oblaks changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Abramov tries to avoid it but Oblaks manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Abramov to the ground. Abramov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Abramov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Oblaks wanted to stand there but Abramov had control of the position.

Oblaks gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Bembol Oblaks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Oblaks misses with a head kick.
Oblaks cracks Abramov with an open hand slap.
Abramov tries to clinch up but Oblaks circles away and keeps his distance.
Abramov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Oblaks tries to score a power double leg takedown but Abramov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Oblaks somewhat.
Oblaks shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Abramov pinned against the cage. Abramov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Abramov fails to land with a series of punches.
Oblaks fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Oblaks blocks the body kick.
Oblaks takes a body punch but keeps moving.
A head kick by Abramov misses

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oblaks is really struggling to control Abramov but he's trying to hold on to the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Bembol Oblaks wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Oblaks is trying to keep Abramov in close.
Oblaks keeping moving, preventing Abramov from controlling successfully.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Oblaks has momentary wrist control but Abramov slips an elbow through the middle.
Roman Abramov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Oblaks looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Oblaks has his foot on Abramov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Abramov works his way back into a safe position though.
Abramov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Abramov avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Abramov would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Oblaks manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Oblaks, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
