Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luke Plouman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Szmyt!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Szmyt shoots in looking for a takedown. Plouman tries to sprawl out of it but Szmyt keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Plouman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Plouman moves forwards but Szmyt connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Szmyt keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Szmyt wants to clinch but Plouman slips to the side
and Plouman counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Plouman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Szmyt fails to land the takedown.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Plouman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Plouman stuffs the takedown.
Some wild striking there from Szmyt.
Plouman moves out of range of the strikes.
Plouman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Szmyt tries to avoid it but Plouman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Szmyt to the ground. Szmyt escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Szmyt gets tackled into the cage by Plouman. Plouman maintains the clinch.
Szmyt goes for a takedown attempt but Plouman pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Szmyt catches Plouman with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Szmyt throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Plouman stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Plouman thows a body shot but no joy.

Plouman closes the distance and clinches.
Plouman landing knees to the head.

Plouman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Szmyt looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Plouman is fending him off so far but Szmyt persists. Nope, Plouman circles away and we're back to standing.
Plouman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Luke Plouman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Plouman moves into range and clinches up with Szmyt.
Szmyt jumps guard but Plouman turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Szmyt looks gassed!
Plouman effectively controlling the action here.
Szmyt wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Szmyt shoots for a takedown but Plouman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Szmyt dives in and grabs Plouman's left leg, looking for a takedown. Plouman pushes down on Szmyt's head and hops out.

Szmyt stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Szmyt wants it to stay on the feet.

Plouman with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Szmyt drops down looking for an ankle pick but Plouman pulls his leg out and moves away.
Horrible takedown by Szmyt or perhaps it was just good defense by Plouman which made him look bad.

Plouman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Szmyt as he avoids it easily.
Szmyt is looking to clinch but Plouman is avoiding it.
Luke Plouman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Plouman dodges the punch combination from Szmyt.
Plouman scores with a head kick. Szmyt tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Luke Plouman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Szmyt shoots in looking for a takedown but Plouman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Szmyt's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
