Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jay Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans shoots for a double leg takedown but Garcia sprawls well. He's pushed Evans's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Evans closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Garcia gets the takedown into side control.
Garcia advances nicely into full mount.
Evans in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Garcia working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Evans turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Garcia off and cradles Evans's limp body as Garcia celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Jay Garcia!
