PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Genesuis Silverkush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sir Winston The Second (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Genesuis Silverkush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sir Winston The Second!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silverkush throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Silverkush looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Silverkush throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Silverkush moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
The Second rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silverkush moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Silverkush misses with the combination.
The Second is looking to clinch but Silverkush is avoiding it.

The Second bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Silverkush taking punishment in the form of punches.
The Second takes a little break here. Silverkush wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The Second decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Silverkush clinches but The Second breaks the clinch

and The Second holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
The Second is trying to maintain a safe position but Silverkush gets an underhook and turns The Second into the cage.
The Second jumps guard but Silverkush stands there with The Second around his waist. The Second gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The Second can't break the clinch.

The Second prevents Silverkush from breaking the clinch.
Silverkush has The Second pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. The Second manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
The Second wants to get back to striking at distance but Silverkush won't allow it.

The Second wants to break the clinch but can't.
The Second can't break the clinch.
Silverkush prevents the takedown attempt.
The Second wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

The Second pulls guard.
The Second looking to hit a scissor sweep but Silverkush is one step ahead there.
Silverkush has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The Second bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Silverkush's guard.

The Second with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The Second is pushing down on Silverkush's leg trying to pass to half guard. Silverkush is fighting to maintain full guard but The Second has managed to sneak the leg through.
The Second is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The Second passes to full mount!

The Second blocks Silverkush's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
The referee warns Silverkush that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Silverkush tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The Second is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Silverkush is surviving well by controlling The Second's body position as best he can.
Silverkush is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The Second fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Silverkush is trying to escape the mount.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The Second takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
A nice elbow there by The Second.
Silverkush is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
The Second sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

The Second lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sir Winston The Second dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Silverkush clinches up against the cage.

The Second escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Silverkush throws a head kick that half lands.
Silverkush looks to land a combination. The Second sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
The Second tries to clinch up but Silverkush circles away and keeps his distance.
The Second throws a nice looking combination but Silverkush bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Silverkush throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Silverkush closes the distance but The Second moves to the side
and The Second counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Silverkush thinking.
Silverkush tries to clinch there but The Second circles away.
The crowd cheers as The Second lands an impressive looking overhand right. Silverkush doesn't seem phased though.
The Second throws a combination. Silverkush tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Silverkush throws a head kick but The Second moves out of range.
Silverkush throws a left and a right that both miss
and The Second cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Genesuis Silverkush seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The Second gets a takedown into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The Second works his way into side control.
Silverkush is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked The Second off and has taken his back!
Silverkush looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
The Second finds himself mounted whilst avoiding strikes.
The Second tries to hold on but Silverkush pushes him away.
Silverkush lands a big elbow.

The Second takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Silverkush will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The Second is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The Second tries to lock up and control but Silverkush gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The Second manages to regain half guard. Good work.

The Second kicks Silverkush off and gets back to his feet.

Silverkush moves out of range of the body kick from The Second.

The Second moves into the clinch.

The Second has Silverkush pushed against the cage.

Silverkush can't break the clinch.
The Second is looking to control Silverkush's arms but Silverkush gets an underhook and turns him. Now The Second has his back to the cage.
The Second wants a takedown.
The Second goes for a takedown in the clinch but Silverkush prevents it.
The Second has had enough of the clinch but Silverkush keeps him there for the moment.

Sir Winston The Second showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Silverkush's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Silverkush uses good head movement to avoid the hook from The Second.

The Second is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Silverkush wants to get back to striking at distance but The Second won't allow it.
The Second wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Silverkush has him pressed against the cage.

The Second breaks the clinch.
Silverkush keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from The Second.
The Second tries to close the distance and clinch but Silverkush swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The Second will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Silverkush gets caught flat footed, as The Second shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The Second controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Let's hope that The Second has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Silverkush wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and The Second manages to pass to side control.
The Second looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Nice strikes from The Second there.
Silverkush on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

The Second stands up from half guard.
The Second tries to clinch there but Silverkush circles away.

The Second closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The Second is trying to control the action in half guard but Silverkush is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The Second is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Silverkush!

The Second is in the full mount, landing strikes.

The Second jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Silverkush is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Silverkush and The Second has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Genesuis Silverkush has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The Second trying to control the action but Silverkush is working from the bottom.
The Second in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Sir Winston The Second has got the better of the ground game so far.

Despite being in the dominant position, Sir Winston The Second just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Sir Winston The Second comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well The Second has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
