Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Magzhan Magzhanbai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Todd Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Magzhanbai has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Magzhan Magzhanbai has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thompson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Magzhanbai sprawls well initially but Thompson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Magzhanbai is breathing heavily.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Thompson wants to control but Magzhanbai is keeping him busy.
Magzhanbai might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Magzhanbai is not content to let Thompson control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thompson tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Magzhanbai.

Thompson wants to finish this one by submission but Magzhanbai is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Thompson.
Thompson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Magzhanbai. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Magzhanbai is controlling an arm, preventing Thompson from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Thompson lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Thompson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Magzhanbai to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Magzhanbai shrugs it off.
Thompson wants to control the pace but Magzhanbai is squirming around nicely.

Thompson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Magzhanbai can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
