Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aurel Cojocari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edmund Dantes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Aurel Cojocari has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aurel Cojocari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Edmund Dantes!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cojocari looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Dantes drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Dantes controlling the position from side mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dantes looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Dantes controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Cojocari's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee asks Dantes politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Dantes prefers to stall for the moment though.
Cojocari is trying to control Dantes's posture but Dantes avoids it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Cojocari lands with an uppercut that bounces Dantes off the cage and back into range.
Dantes swings for the body but Cojocari moves out of range.

Dantes throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cojocari was covering up waiting for the punch and Dantes finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Dantes seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dantes closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cojocari's guard.

Dantes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cojocari has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dantes has managed to get both his arms back between Cojocari's legs - danger averted.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Dantes is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cojocari knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Dantes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cojocari keeps working.
Dantes is staying tight to Cojocari's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Let's hope that Dantes has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dantes looks to land a right hand but Cojocari moved out of range.
Cojocari lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Dantes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cojocari manages to avoid it.
Dantes avoids the head kick by Cojocari.
Cojocari throws a push kick but Dantes slaps the foot to one side.
Cojocari cracks Dantes with a right hand to the side of the head.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Cojocari.

Dantes tries for a takedown but Cojocari sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Dantes takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Cojocari looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Cojocari, as that shot connected.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dantes has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Cojocari.

Dantes is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Cojocari's half guard.

Cojocari wants to control but Dantes is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Dantes is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Cojocari is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
