Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bill Carson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and New Knox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bill Carson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, New Knox!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Knox drives through with a takedown into guard.
Carson being controlled here, momentarily.
Knox prevents Carson from getting back to his feet.
Carson has a closed guard, preventing Knox from standing up.
Carson keeping moving, preventing Knox from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by New Knox.
Carson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Knox's hands.

The fight stays on the outside here - Knox looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Carson throws a head kick but Knox moves out of range.
Carson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Carson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Knox to the mat! Knox manages to get full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Carson wants to control from the top but Knox keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carson postures up and lands a big shot to Knox's brow.

Knox is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Let's hope that Knox has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up. New Knox was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Carson throws a head kick that misses.

Knox dives in and scores a takedown into Carson's guard.
Carson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Carson wants to get back to his feet but Knox is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Knox accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Knox stands and steps away. Carson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Knox shoots for a takedown but Carson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Knox shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Carson as he avoids it easily.
Knox tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Carson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Knox throws a head kick that misses.
Carson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Knox cracks a nice hook into Carson's ribs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Knox lands a front kick.

Carson tries to sprawl but Knox drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Knox looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

New Knox dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Carson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Carson tries to stand but can't do so whilst Knox controls his leg.
Carson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Knox's head.

Knox pushes Carson off and gets back to his feet.

Knox rushes Carson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Knox breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Carson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Knox is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Knox tries to sprawl but Carson drives through with a takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Carson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Carson connects with a nice short shot to Knox's temple.

Knox tries to get to full guard but Carson has control of the leg.

Knox has one foot on Carson's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Carson takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
New Knox seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Knox shoots in looking for a takedown. Carson tries to sprawl out of it but Knox keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Knox looks to land a body kick but Carson moved away.
Knox throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Knox takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Knox walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Knox misses with a body kick.
Carson's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Carson duly obliges.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Knox.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Knox decides to stand up, so the ref orders Carson to his feet.
Knox shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Carson takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Knox lands a nice looking body kick.
Carson works over Knox's head and body with a nice combination.

Carson steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Knox. That one must have hurt.
Knox looks for a takedown but Carson sprawls well.
Horrible takedown by Knox or perhaps it was just good defense by Carson which made him look bad.
Bill Carson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of New Knox.

Carson will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

Carson lands with a nice body punch.
Bill Carson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Knox misses with a head kick.
Carson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Carson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Knox throws a right hand that Carson ducks under and follows up with a left that Carson also avoids with ease.
Bill Carson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Knox gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Carson to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Carson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Carson throws a combination that misses
and Knox makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Knox throws a head kick but Carson moves out of range.
Knox attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bill Carson will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Carson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Knox is controlling Carson's trapped leg to prevent Carson from advancing to side control.
Carson thows a huge punch but Knox dodges it nicely.
Knox is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Carson misses with a series of wild punches.
Knox shoots for a takedown but Carson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Knox takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Carson steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Knox. That one must have hurt.
Knox throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Carson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Carson misses with a head kick.

Carson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Knox quickly recovers to half guard.
Knox is looking to improve his position.
Carson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Knox controlling the position well.
Knox wants to control but Carson is keeping busy.

Carson wants to stand but Knox has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carson throwing shots but Knox is blocking nicely.
Knox is looking for a sweep. Carson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Carson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Knox defends it well.

Knox manages to get to full guard.
Knox trying to keep a closed guard but Carson is proving a slippery customer.
Carson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Knox is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Carson is in close to Knox's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Knox manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Carson bucks up and throws Knox to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!
Knox throws a body punch but Carson moves out of range.
Carson lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Knox takes one on the chin but seems OK.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carson takes a swing at Knox's ribcage but misses.
Knox looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Knox throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Knox shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Carson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Knox fails to land a wild elbow strike.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bill Carson.
I think Carson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
