Darden kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is 6 WEAPONS - TERROR. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overeem tries to keep at a distance but Darden has taken the fight into the clinch.
Darden pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That kick from Darden tenderised Overeem's leg. Overeem is trying to keep his angry face on.
Darden misses with the combination.
Darden throws a series of punches but Overeem moves out of range.
Overeem has his takedown stuffed
and Darden counters with a left and a right that stings Overeem.
Overeem with a lazy takedown attempt
and Darden counters with a series of strikes that sends Overeem to the canvas! Darden follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Darden would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Darden has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Overeem is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Overeem bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Darden's guard.
Overeem wants to pass the guard but Darden is keeping the position.

Overeem passes Darden's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Overeem is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Overeem maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Darden could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Overeem has cracked it and Darden is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Overeem!
