Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gareth Edwards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shane Winslow!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Winslow circles away quickly and effectively.
Edwards changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Winslow tries to avoid it but Edwards manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Winslow to the ground. Winslow escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Edwards shoots in and drives through. Winslow sprawls well.
Winslow fails in his attempt to clinch.
Winslow shoots in and bounces Edwards off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Edwards working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Winslow doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Winslow manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Edwards avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Winslow pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Edwards is keeping the position for now.
Winslow works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Winslow wants to pass the guard but Edwards is defending well.
Edwards has hold of Winslow's hands but Winslow slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Winslow stands up from half guard.

and Winslow counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Winslow.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gareth Edwards. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Edwards is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Winslow is aware though and is defending well.
Winslow stands and throws Edwards's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Edwards is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Winslow asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Edwards is breathing heavily.
Edwards stops Winslow from passing to mount.
Edwards manages to get back to half guard.
Winslow thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Winslow wants to pass the guard but Edwards is defending well.
Winslow is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Winslow is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Edwards!
Edwards tries to lock up and control but Winslow gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
BOOM! Winslow connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Winslow scoring with strikes but Edwards is staying in there.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Winslow! Edwards is hurt baaadly! Winslow is firing away with more strikes - Edwards is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shane Winslow!
As Shane Winslow got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: What do you say about that? People are spitting on my name because of my streak, and so what now? Fuck them, I'm back!'.
