The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Widaca misses with a looping right.
Tyler moves away from the strike by Widaca.
Widaca on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Tyler. Tyler obviously looking to wear him down.
Tyler is looking to clinch but Widaca is avoiding it.
Tyler throws a right hand that Widaca ducks under and follows up with a left that Widaca also avoids with ease.
Widaca swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Tyler.
Tyler keeps Widaca at a distance using the push kick.
Widaca is looking to clinch.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Tyler, as that shot connected.
Widaca misses with a looping left.
Tyler lands a jab to Widaca's midsection.

Widaca fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Tyler looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Widaca has closed the distance and engaged Tyler in a clinch.

Tyler's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Widaca tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
A nice left hand lands by Widaca.

Widaca works on Tyler's body with a couple of short punches.

Tyler manages to break the clinch.

Widaca avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Widaca bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Tyler's head backwards.

John Widaca seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Widaca throws a lazy right hand but Tyler sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Tyler comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Widaca throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Tyler is looking to clinch but Widaca is avoiding it.
Widaca slips a jab and a cross from Tyler.
Widaca drives through and clinches with Tyler against the cage.

Widaca lands a left hand that snaps the head of Tyler backwards.

Tyler is trying to force a seperation but Widaca has the dominant position.
Tyler wants to get back to striking at distance but Widaca won't allow it.
Nice body punch from Widaca - that landed with a thud.
Tyler keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Widaca's efforts to push away.
Widaca lands a right hand that snaps the head of Tyler backwards.

Widaca has Tyler pressed against the cage, preventing Tyler from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Tyler breaks the clinch.
Tyler throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

It looks like Liv Tyler has been cut.

Tyler throws a shot from downtown. Widaca moves away and avoids it.
Widaca connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Tyler is still on wobbly legs! Can Widaca finish him?
Tyler tries to keep at a distance but Widaca has taken the fight into the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A short body shot lands from Widaca as the two fighters clinch.
Widaca lands a nice uppercut.
Widaca lands a hook to the side of the head.
Widaca pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Tyler misses with a few strikes there.
Widaca connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Tyler covering up! Widaca comes in with a big uppercut and Tyler goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). John Widaca!
John Widaca bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
