Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Nikolai Walujew!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Bjarne Sluggo!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sluggo throws a right and a left that both miss.
Walujew fails to land the takedown.
Sluggo swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Walujew.
It looks like Nikolai Walujew has been cut.
Walujew shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sluggo pinned against the cage. Sluggo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sluggo throws a left and a right that both miss
and Walujew counters by moving into the clinch.
Sluggo prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nikolai Walujew. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sluggo has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Walujew tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sluggo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Walujew has him pressed against the cage.
Walujew has Sluggo pressed against the cage, preventing Sluggo from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Sluggo is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Sluggo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sluggo closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Sluggo throws out a powerful jab.
Walujew changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sluggo tries to avoid it but Walujew manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sluggo to the ground. Sluggo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sluggo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Walujew circles away quickly and effectively.
Sluggo lands an overhand right.
Walujew slips a jab and a cross from Sluggo.
Walujew shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sluggo but Sluggo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sluggo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Walujew tries to move into range but Sluggo moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Walujew shoots in but no luck this time.
Walujew is breathing heavily.
Walujew dives in and grabs Sluggo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sluggo pushes down on Walujew's head and hops out.
Sluggo lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Walujew goes down and covers up as Sluggo starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bjarne Sluggo!
