Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Harley Royale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Top Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Royale comes to the cage accompanied by Empire X by Dubtraction. Harley Royale has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Harley Royale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Top Dog!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Royale scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Dog is looking for a sweep. Royale is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Royale controlling the action here.

Royale decides to stand up.

Royale closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dog is trying to work for a sweep but Royale has mounted him!
Royale avoids the attempt from Dog to control.
Royale tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Royale with shots to the head and body - Dog looks very uncomfortable down there.
Royale controlling the position easily from mount.
Dog is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Royale looking to control but Dog is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Dog is in all sorts of trouble here.

Dog tries to lock up and control but Royale gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Royale takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Royale tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Royale pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Royale blocks Dog's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Royale tries to control but Dog wriggling away.
Dog is desperately trying to improve his position but Royale has a good base and remains in mount.
Royale knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dog on the ground.

Royale looking to secure an arm triangle but Dog defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harley Royale dominated that round.
That's time! Royale's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Royale drives through with a takedown into guard.
Dog looking to control.
Dog being controlled here, momentarily.

Dog wants to sweep here but Royale controlling him for the moment.

Royale slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Royale is working an open guard so Dog takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Royale closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dog to the mat! Dog manages to get full guard.

Dog manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Royale gets the takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dog wants to control but Royale postures up.
Royale tries to stand but Dog is controlling his head.
Dog is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Dog struggling a bit here.
Dog manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Royale prevents Dog from improving his position.
Royale trying to control the pace.
Dog wants to improve his position but Royale is controlling well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Royale tries to stand but can't do so whilst Dog controls his leg.
Dog trying to control from the bottom.
Royale performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Dog looking for submissions off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harley Royale dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Dog gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Dog has a closed guard, preventing Royale from standing up.
Harley Royale overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Royale is stalling in the full guard.
Royale pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dog is keeping the position for now.
Dog takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Dog seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Royale trying to control the position from guard on top but Dog is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Royale pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dog is keeping the position for now.
Dog has control of Royale's left arm, preventing Royale from doing any damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Royale missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Royale preventing the sweep.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dog is looking to clinch.
Royale fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Royale shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dog but Dog pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dog gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Royale decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dog's guard.
Dog wants to sweep but no luck.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dog has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Royale is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Dog.
Dog is looking for a sweep.
Royale trying to control the action but Dog is working from the bottom.
Dog can't do much from the bottom here.
Dog is letting Royale control him for a moment.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dog is not content to let Royale control the position.
Royale slows the pace down.
Royale is looking to take a break and control but Dog is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Harley Royale showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Royale, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
