Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jamal White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Mcdonel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jesse Mcdonel has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jamal White's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jesse Mcdonel !
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Kavanagh and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from White.
Jamal White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mcdonel fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
White swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Mcdonel counters with a straight right hand.
Mcdonel takes one on the button.
White takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
White throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
White fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nice jab there from Mcdonel .

and Mcdonel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mcdonel tries to land a leg kick but White saw it coming and moves away.
White closes the distance but Mcdonel moves to the side
and Mcdonel counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
White moves to clinch but Mcdonel breaks away

and Mcdonel counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

White tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Mcdonel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mcdonel looks for the body kick but White saw that one coming.
Mcdonel throws a head kick but White moves out of range.
White throws a looping overhand right but Mcdonel ducks down to avoid it.
White on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Mcdonel rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but White moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

White moves in looking to clinch but Mcdonel pushes him off.

Mcdonel doesn't manage to clinch there - White circles away.
White looks to land a right hand but Mcdonel moved out of range.

Mcdonel changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. White looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mcdonel stands up.

Mcdonel slaps away a takedown attempt from White, before circling back to the center of the mat.
White lands with a kick to the temple. Mcdonel shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

White closes the distance and clinches.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
White throws a knee to the head but misses.
White looking to throw knees to the head but Mcdonel is blocking nicely.
Mcdonel wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Mcdonel scores with a nice hook to the head.
White is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Mcdonel is defending well for now.
White is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Mcdonel is keeping busy.

Mcdonel jumps guard but White stands there with Mcdonel around his waist. Mcdonel gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

White putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Mcdonel in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Mcdonel counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
White wants to get back to full guard.
Mcdonel works his foot free and advances to mount.
Mcdonel avoids the attempt from White to control.
White reaches up to try and control the position but Mcdonel seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! White rolls and tries to escape and now Mcdonel has his back!

Mcdonel is not going to allow White to sit and survive in this position.
Mcdonel controls the action.
White tries to roll but Mcdonel sticks to his back.
White wants to control his opponent's hands but Mcdonel gets his hands free.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
White looks to clinch
and Mcdonel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
White misses with a jab, cross combination.

Mcdonel drives through and clinches with White against the cage.

Jesse Mcdonel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Mcdonel cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
White tries to close the distance and clinch but Mcdonel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mcdonel misses with a two punch combination.

White wants to clinch but Mcdonel slips to the side
and Mcdonel connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
White tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Mcdonel manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mcdonel keeps the fight on the outside.
White swings widly with a right hand
enabling Mcdonel to counter with a crisp jab.
White takes a kick to the side of the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
No luck for Mcdonel with that takedown attempt.
Mcdonel shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. White defends it nicely.

White gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mcdonel to score an easy takedown into full guard.

White is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mcdonel is controlling him.
Mcdonel pushes down on White's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Jamal White has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
White wants to get back to full guard but Mcdonel has mounted him!

White tries to improve his position but instead Mcdonel has taken his back!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
I really don't envy White right now.
Jesse Mcdonel is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
